City starts with resurfacing of Voortrekker Road between Maitland and Salt River

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises residents of the roadworks that have commenced along Voortrekker Road today, 26 June 2024.
The working hours will be from 19:00 till 05:00, Monday to Friday. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time.
The two areas that will be affected along Voortrekker Road will include:
- the section before the Black River crossing
- the section before the Cannon Street and Koeberg Road intersection
‘The road resurfacing will take place between the Maitland and Salt River portion of Voortrekker Road and should be complete by mid-June 2024. The City can assure residents that most of the work will be done at night to avoid the peak traffic hours and some weekend work might be required. We would like to thank road users for their patience while the work is under way,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas
The work to be undertaken will include resurfacing the affected roads and milling and filling operations.
